Registrations:
We close registrations on May 1, 2024 at midnight.
Registration is considered complete when the following documents are submitted:

Age division:
The categories are divided by ages

Children: 7- 9 years old

Youth: 10 - 11 years old

Students: 12 - 14 years old

Junior: 15 - 17 years old

Senior: 18 - 25 years old
Age is determined as of Mei 1, 2024.
Professional dancers are not allowed to participate in the IBCB.
A professional dancer is defined by the IBCB as anyone employed as a full-time dancer (apprentices are included) with a professional dance company on an annual contract which engages the dancer for at least 26 weeks per year.
This includes dancers who are not currently employed under such a contract, but have been in the past.
Pointe shoes:
We are strongly committed to ensuring the safety and well-being of all dancers, and especially our youngest participants. Please ensure that you follow the guidelines set out below:
It is strictly forbidden for students 11 and under to do pointe.

All participants have the choice to perform in the following categories:

Registration fees:
The registration fees are distributed as follows:

Solo: 110€ / variation

Pas de 2: 110€ / Pas de 2

Duo: 75€ / dancers

Group: 10€/ dancers
The registration fees include the registration as well as the masterclasses.
Payment authorized via Paypal.
When paying, please note the name of the dancer in memo to facilitate the search.
If the dancer's name does not appear, the registration will be considered incomplete.
Registration fees are non-refundable.
The electronic signature is considered an official signature.
Teacher badges:
For schools with up to 3 students, 1 teacher badge will be distributed at the welcome table upon arrival at the event.
For schools with 4 or more students, 2 teacher badges will be given.
The Professor Badge is your complementary pass to attend the open stage with your dancer(s) and
can be picked up by the school principal or a teacher.
However, teachers are not allowed in the dressing rooms or backstage during the competition.

Suits:
The dancers will perform in stage costume.
Props are allowed; they must be moved on stage by the dancers and removed quickly after their pieces.
Baby powder or any substance that may remain on the floor (such as body lotions or glitter) are not permitted at IBCB.
Music:
The music must be sent at the same time as the registration via the form.
It must be in MP3 format.
Please name it as follows:
Category - age division - surname - first name - title of the choreography

Course of the competition:
The competition takes place at the Queen Fabiola Center

Rating:

Competitors will be judged individually by a panel of judges made up of international dance dignitaries.

Competitors are judged on their artistry, technical skills and musicality.

Based on a 100 point system, each juror will vote individually for each contestant in each round.

The IBCB does not publish jury scores.
-
The decisions of the jury are final and cannot be appealed.

The Jury reserves the right not to award all the prizes.

Rewards are NOT split between competitors.
Insurance:
The participant or his legal representative declares to have all the necessary insurance for the duration of the participation in the International Ballet Competition Belgium. The IBCB cannot be held responsible for an emergency of any kind, including, but not limited to, medical or personal.
Rights:
Participants must ensure that they have obtained all dance and music rights before performing their contemporary pieces. International Ballet Competition Belgium cannot be held responsible for any piece performed without the appropriate authorisations.
Photos and videos:
During the Competition: The Dancer or his legal representative grants the IBCB the perpetual and irrevocable right to use his name, his photographs or video sequences in any form and on any medium and in any way, without any restriction for editorial purposes. , advertising, commercial promotion, exhibition or any other lawful purpose. Dancer or their legal representative waives any right to inspect or approve any video footage or photographs or final versions, including any written copies that may be created and appear in connection therewith. The dancer or his legal representative agrees that the photographer(s) and videographer(s) own the copyright in such photographs and video footage, and hereby waives any claim he may have based on any use of the photographs and video footage, or works derived therefrom.
